Contract renewals

Agreements that roll over into a new term unless someone objects in time.

The situation

A service agreement runs for twelve months and renews automatically for another twelve unless either side gives notice. The renewal is silent: nothing arrives in the inbox, and the first signal is an invoice for a term nobody re-approved.

Fields recorded

  • Counterparty name
  • Current term end date
  • Auto-renewal yes/no and renewal length
  • Notice period length and unit
  • Explicit cancellation deadline, when the agreement states one
  • Annual value and currency
  • Internal owner

What you confirm

You confirm the term end date, whether the agreement renews on its own, and the notice period. If the document states a deadline outright, you confirm that date instead of a calculated one.

Reminder and action

Reminders arrive 90, 60, 30, 14 and 7 days before the notice deadline so there is room to renegotiate, renew deliberately, or send notice.

Limitations

PactOrbit does not decide whether a notice clause is valid, and it does not send the notice. Amendments that change the term must be recorded—an unread amendment is an unknown date.
